BREAKING NEWS: Qualifying for Worlds at SoCal Regionals

For the first time in SaMoTech history, we are playing in the 2026 World Championships. At Regionals, we were the Winning Alliance Captain and went a perfect 9-0. We also won the 2nd-place Control Award. We are so grateful for our sponsors and all the help we have received over the years to make this possible.

For the 4th consecutive season, we qualified for the SoCal Regional Championships. We were the Winning Alliance and also won the 1st-place Control Award. We are looking forward to competing in the SoCal Regionals!
Record Numbers at Franklin Elementary Science Club

We had the outstanding opportunity to host one of Franklin Elementary School’s Science Club meetings for the second time, where a record number of students and parents attended. We shared our FIRST experience and encouraged them to reach out to the district and our team to get involved.

About Us
SaMoTech is a student-led, all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit community team founded in 2022 by six freshmen at Santa Monica High School. Now with ten members, ages 15–18, working out of a family garage, SaMoTech has fought its way to the #1 ranking in the SoCal region, competing against teams backed by schools with paid coaches and dedicated workspaces. Beyond learning engineering and robotics through competition, we regularly support other teams and promote robotics and STEM education in our local community.
FIRST Tech Challenge
FIRST challenges teams of students, grades 7-12, to design, build, and program autonomous & driver-operated robots that compete in head-to-head competitions. Each unique season concludes with Inter-league, Regional, and World Championships. FIRST competitions involve more than 600,000 students in over 50 countries thanks to sponsors like NASA, Google, and Apple.
